About the Journal

Indonesian Quarterly is a peer-reviewed policy-oriented journal published by the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Indonesia, devoted to bridging the gap between academic research and policymaking on issues related to Indonesia and its political, economic, and strategic challenges. Indonesian Quarterly publishes research articles and viewpoints that present original, persuasive, analytically rigorous, clear and concise argumentation on crucial policy matters facing Indonesia, the region, and beyond. Major universities throughout Indonesia and Asia subscribed Indonesian Quarterly. The opinions expressed in Indonesian Quarterly are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the CSIS.




  1. Indonesian Quarterly accepts manuscripts written in English and requires that all submitted manuscripts have not been previously published in any form, either in part or in whole, and are not currently being considered for use by any other organization.
  2. In order to be easily accessible to policymakers and the wider public, each manuscript must include a 200-word abstract and should include problems, purposes, methods and findings of the study. The abstract must also include some key words.
  3. A manuscript between 4,000-6,000 words must be sent in Microsoft Word, typed in 10-point Palatino Linotype and double-spaced, in A4-size paper with 210mm wide and 297 deep.
  4. We also accept a book review. A book review must be between 1,500-2,000 words.
  5. The referencing system must be done in footnotes, using Chicago manual of style. Footnotes use font type Palatino Linotype in 10-point, single-spaced. Please also include a bibliography.
  6. Tables and figures must be numbered according to its order and entitled according to its content. Figures and graphs should be complemented with the raw data in Excel format.
